Welcome to Skrova

Skrova is a gem in Vågan municipality, located south of Svolvær in Lofoten. With around 180 residents, the island is one of the last remaining authentic fishing villages in Norway. Skrova is known for its processing and production of fish, minke whale, and farmed salmon—an integral part of the island's culture and economy for generations.

Thanks to its unique location in the Vestfjord, Skrova enjoys significantly more sunshine and less rainfall than the rest of Lofoten. Summer offers incredible hiking terrain, pristine white beaches, and opportunities to swim in the turquoise waters

How to Get to Skrova

The nearest airports are Svolvær, Bodø, and Harstad/Narvik (from the latter, you'll need to take a bus or rent a car to reach Svolvær).

From Svolvær
A ferry operates between Svolvær and Skrova with 3–5 departures per day. The crossing takes approximately 30 minutes, and schedules vary depending on the season. During the summer season (June–August), the ferry also stops at Skutvik. The ferry is free of charge.

From Bodø
High-speed boat – There is one daily departure on the Bodø – Skrova – Svolvær route.

Looking for Accommodation?

We recommend Heimbrygga Accommodation – the perfect place to recharge and escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

To truly experience everything Skrova has to offer, we suggest staying for at least 2 nights. This gives you plenty of time to explore the island and enjoy its stunning natural beauty.

Stay at Oljetanken

For those seeking something truly unique, Skrova offers accommodation in a converted oil tank! The former oil tank has been transformed into a modern and comfortable place to stay, allowing you to immerse yourself in the island's historic surroundings.

Our PopUp team is a wonderful blend of people with qualities complementing each other in everything from hosting to wine. They are all people with the will, commitment and guts to join something that seemed completely crazy!

Team PopUp

Our Guest Chefs

Our guest chefs are tasked with creating a menu focusing on their specialties, but using ingredients local to the PopUp restaurant. Chefs specializing in everything from neo-Nordic to Spanish to Japanese have risen to the task of serving incredible, memorable meals to our guests in locations ranging from a coal mine in Svalbard to and old prison in Stord to a riverfront dream in Jølster! We are overjoyed chefs with both stars and awards choose to join this adventure.

Our Suppliers

PopUp would not be the same without the local suppliers on the team. We are incredibly lucky to have so much fresh and great food to pick from no matter what location we have selected in Norway. We love joining with the local businesses who place great emphasis on quality and going the extra mile. Our chefs are taken on a tasting tour to visit local suppliers and see where the products come from.
